The founder and president of the TJC Group, Tim Johnson has built lasting and deep relationships with decision makers at all levels of business, industry, and government all across the United States.
Tim’s diverse background includes six years as a lead committee staffer for the Louisiana State Senate and five years as the Director of Business Development for the Construction and Maintenance Division of the Shaw Group (Now CB&I). Tim served six years as the Director of Training and then as the Executive Director for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Pelican Chapter, leading one of the largest privately funded construction craft training centers in the United States with an enrollment of over 1,600 students per semester.
Currently, Tim is the leading national consultant for the creation, management, facilitation, and revitalization of industry-based Community Advisory Panels (CAPs), a process that assists industrial plant management in listening more effectively to and communicating with the communities in which they operate.
Tim also serves in a consulting role as Executive Director for several state and national trade associations including Louisiana Construction Education Foundation (LCEF) and the National Maritime Education Council (NMEC) and as the Senior Director of Governmental Relations for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). He is also a national spokesperson promoting construction craft training and careers in the construction industry. The TJC Group serves as the management firm for the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association (LIDEA).
Tim resides just outside of Baton Rouge, LA and has three children. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, LSU athletics, reading political and historical biographies, and running. He sings tenor in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church choir.
